MSA Altair Disposable Single Gas Detector - O2, CO, H2S

Maintenance-Free Service Life

The ALTAIR gas monitor provides two years or 1080 alarm minutes of service life under warranty with no maintenance. This Altair gas detector will continue to perform as long as battery capacity allows and will not deactivate after two years of operation.

Easy to Use and Maintain

The MSA ALTAIR gas detector boasts an easy to read numeric display which allows the user to countdown the oxygen gas monitor’s life, alarm conditions, set points, peak readings and hours in an alarm since activation with accuracy and confidence. Also, the oxygen version of the gas detector can easily display the current level as well as its highest and lowest readings.

A simple bump check can be carried out by confirming “Gas Test” with a single button press on the O2 gas detector. This check will be recorded and displayed on the screen as a checkmark for 24 hours. The MSA ALTAIR has a built-in gas delivery adapter and needs no additional accessories to carry out a bump check.

Robust Design

The MSA ALTAIR monitor is designed to withstand a 3m drop test and is IP 67 rated. The housing of the gas detection monitor is extra thick and rubberised to provide protection from accidental drops and also helps provide a tight seal, offering simple yet effective resistance to water and dust ingress. Metal screw inserts ensure that a high level of structural stability is offered over the unit’s lifetime.

The MSA ALTAIR gas monitor comes fitted with a proven suspension clip, allowing it to be worn securely anywhere. Even during the roughest use this rugged clip keeps the unit attached to the user.

Distinctive Alarm System

The superior triple alarm system fitted to the monitor effectively alerts the user to any danger. This consists of a distinctive audible alarm of 95 dB at 30cm, super-bright LEDs visible from a 320° angle and a strong vibration alarm. A ‘LO’ or ‘HI’ alarm status will also be shown on the numeric display.

MSA’s oxygen gas detector automatically records the 25 latest alarm events which offer the user the ability to assess the recent alarm conditions. The ALTAIR monitor can be connected to a MSA IR-Jeteye using the standard built-in IR communication to read the data or to change alarm set points via FiveStar Link 4.3.

Patented Sensors

Patented, MSA Button toxic gas sensors are fitted to both the CO and H2S ALTAIR, while the O2 version accommodates a fast responding 20 series sensor.

Simple Testing

The MSA ALTAIR gas detector’s visual, audible and vibrating alarms along with response to a known gas concentration can be checked using ALTAIR QuickCheck. In order to test the ALTAIR, simply press the button and place it into the test station.

GALAXY

The GALAXY automated record keeping and calibration test system is a completely stand alone system that does not require the use of a computer. To allow multiple instruments to be simultaneously tested, calibrated and charged up to 10 GALAXY modules can be connected together and using an industry standard flash card over 1000 individual test records can be stored. An optical wired connection is also available.
